MODERATORS
This was always a multi $T project, and $1.2T is lowball, but can't be accused of initially set at $200B. There is 0 chance of 2029 operation. Pretending that is a deadline, would make costs rise astronomically.
Russia and China (and Iran) have hypersonic missiles, and the US does not. Israel/Ukraine are incapable of stopping hypersonic missiles, and have elite US defense systems. Needs hypersonic space based interceptors to deal with hypersonics is simply 2 technology gaps the US must close in absurd timeline.
