Peace and data security be upon you all.

This is my German-language site on Codeberg:

NO GOOGLE TRACK

It covers Google's abuse of power, Project Nimbus, and more. I also list alternative browsers and search engines, complete with pros and cons. I show you how to block Google services using uBlock Origin and strengthen your browser using the hidden about:config menu. The entire text is in German, but I hope automatic browser translation works well enough for you to understand. If you have questions, feel free to message me.

As a side note, I've grown increasingly disappointed with fairphone. I recebtly switched to shiftphone, which also supports degoogled ROMs, and offers the same repairability. I think shift is much more aligned with the values fairphone claims to represent.

I've grown increasingly disappointed with fairphone

It would be nice to include why!

I posted a rant here. Looking back, I was a little to worked up and excessively negative, so take with a grain of salt.

Oh, Im sorry that u are disappointed with fairphone 🙁But thanks for the side note. I'll keep that in mind. Since I know absolutely nothing about de-googled systems and phones like this, I unfortunately have to experiment a bit myself. But could you please tell me exactly what you were disappointed about regarding Fairphone

Mostly the FairbudsXL which are basically a scam, as the parts fail chronically but fairphone has abandoned the product and the firmware. I have bought the same replacement part 4 times. Also much of the product is proprietary and they don't allow you to run your own software on them.

The fairphone itself is not awful and I'm still using my fairphone 4, but I increasingly get the idea that they are increasingly abandoning their values in favor of profits.

Ah, got it. Thanks for sharing that with me. Honestly, I've mostly been looking at Fairphone because I felt it was better than the alternatives. Plus, there was something nostalgic about being able to pop the battery out from the back, just like old phones. At the end of the day, what really matters to me is a de-Googled system like Murena. But yeah, having a nice-looking phone wouldn't hurt either. Thanks again!

fairphone is definitely better than samsung etc. I'm just being excessively negative like a good Lemmy user 🫡

😂 You deserve respect for that! Give me a few weeks on Lemmy and I'll hopefully be a full member of the negativity club by then! 🫡🫡🫡🫡
