I would say this is where we need US GDPR and heavy heavy fucking fines on those companies.

maybe then security wont be an afterthought

You be hard pressed to get a government to issue a large enough fine to make a difference.

Sorry, were all just gonna have to give up every freedom ever and become digital slaves in the name of online safety.
