😭 is the emoji for exocrine

spoilerlacrimal glands, where tears are produced, are actually a type of exocrine gland.

The crine in endocrine and exocrine come from Ancient Greek κρίνω (krínō) which has many definitions, allegedly including “to separate, also to secrete”.... Except, does it? The "to secrete" meaning of κρίνω was actually only added to wiktionary by a random IP address in 2023.

I'm crine. (From Scots crine (“to shrivel”), from Scottish Gaelic crìon (“withered”), from Old Irish crín.) 🫠

Though it is weird when white people post like this.

And it's fucking everywhere these days.

yeah, a lot of white people see it as nothing more than "trendy internet slang" or "gen z slang" and use it accordingly… tbh, it's a really gross thing to do to a dialect that is so often ridiculed and mocked by those same white people (frankly i'd even say the reduction to "internet slang" is part of the ridicule)

It's always weird that Lemmy folk die on this hill. Like the world doesn't care. Language will always be flexible and ever evolving and require effort to interpret

my dude, one of my surgeons had an accent so thick if i was in (severe) pain i needed an interpreter. he also had the tightest stitches on the west coast so hell yeah i was going to hire him. you're basically writing what it was like trying to listen to him in preop tho.
