The term "privacy advocates" basically doesn't exist in the German language; we use the term "Datenschützer" for those who engage in the fight for privacy and data protection. I actually believe that the term we use in German is better, since protection sounds much more serious and more worth discussing compared to "privacy." The word data protection actually says that this is not just about having privacy, but about actual protection of so much more.
