I completely understand and agree with sentiment of holding the sign. But I'm a bit conflicted about this since I don't feel like this is the moment to do it.
For context once a year we have a day for Remembrance of the Dead. This particular moment is 1 minute of silence at 20:00 that the entire country holds for this.
In the ceremony that proceeds they usually also mention the people that lost their lives in different wars across the globe which probably includes Gaza, Ukraine, Sudan and more.
So yes I think our government should do more against Israel, but I'm conflicted about this time and place.
Holding a performative vigil for victims of a previous genocide while being complicit in a new one... That is turning the Holocaust into a hollow cause.
Plus Eichmann himself would be in that vigil if alive today. Puzzling, right?
What law validates his arrest? Did just say he was somehow obstructing the gathering? Or something like "you can't bother people"?
Article 430. He wasn't even arrested he was just asked to move to the designated area for protesting, after the minute of silence ended.
Man, this is something I'd expect from tankies defending CCP.
Can't even hold a sign in protest anymore?
When the fascists come, I hope you remember to follow the law to move to a "designated" area for whatever excuse they've made up to round people up.
I know I'm exaggerating, but this is how they silence their criticism and call themselves "civilized.*
It's the exact perfect moment to do it.
You don't get to compartmentalise your carrying out/being complicit in any degree with atrocities then get to police others for reinforcing the point just because it sticks your hypocrisy right in your face
Are you retarded? When would be better than when you are reflecting on the abhorrent nature of genocide?
