much thanks to @gary_host_laptop for the logo design :)
So that I understand you right, you're looking to replace your FP3 with a newer model that comes with /e/OS?
Yes. I'm trying to figure out if it's worth buying a model that comes with /e/OS pre-installed or if it's better to stick with Android.
e/OS/ is android. Just degoogled.
and android is Linux, yet you wouldn't call either os a Linux-distro, no⸮ https://www.xkcd.com/1318/
So you're arguing that the Google crap is what makes android android?
You can still install any android app on e/OS and it will run. You may experience, potentially heavily, reduced functionality due to missing "features" like play protect, but it will run.
If you want to run android binaries on Linux or vice versa, you need to jump through a bunch of hoops in order to even get to reduced functionality.
People should start doing so. This "android isn't real linux" nonsense is actively harmful misinformation at this point
Yea I wish, but aren't Linux and android systems different in like ...all regards, basically?
