He doesn't. Zero. I grew up Protestant (it didn't take, I had good Critical Thinking Skills from the start), and I never heard one word about the Pope. He was the Catholics' guy, not our problem. He had absolutely no influence on my family or anyone at church.
When a new Pope gets crowned, or whatever, there's no spiritual feeling about it at all, no excitement or hope for the future of the church or humanity, no connection with God, etc., it's just something the Catholics are up to this week.
