The other interesting tidbit here is that the "Fibonacci" sequence had already been described in India over 1000 years before Fibonacci.

It do be like that in maths sometimes. Ancient Egyptians were using Pythagorean theorem to build right angles from a 3, 4, 5 triangle long before Pythagoras was even a name.
