I don't know, it just doesn't feel... human. It feels like someone just put a bot to play and recorded it.

That might be the point. They want to show the best outcome to the game.

Back when I played Rockband (late 00s), there were FBFC (full band full combo) videos. These were made not to show skill, but to highlight the optimal path for deploying overdrive/star power to maximize score. Very mechanical. They may have been played by four very talented players, but they could have used a bot as well. (YARG, or Yet Another Rhythm Game, is a Rockband clone that can be played on Linux, macOS, and Windows, and bots can play with you or on their own as a built in function.)

If it’s an action or action RPG or adventure, who really cares? Unless it’s a speed run, in which case taking hits is strategic (like Mario, getting hit makes you smaller and thus more maneuverable).

I generally don’t watch these though. I’d rather follow a guide someone typed out.

There are some games that I don’t have time or a strong desire to play, but I want to see the story. The game might be 20-40 hours long but a play through video might be 4-8 hours. I’ll pick a video with no commentary or voice over and watch it in sections as I have time. I don’t need their humor, their opinions, or struggle with the game. (MKIceAndFire 4.5M subs) If I think the game sucks then I’m only out a few minutes up to an hour or two until I make that determination.
