You suggested that people should boycott all American companies because of their government. I don't know how I'm supposed to interpret that any other way.
Correct.
That's not the same thing as what you are claiming (that I wish bad things for those Americans who oppose the current regime).
Replace "those who oppose the current regime" with "all Americans" and it's exactly the same thing.
