for tng, I can say I was always happy to see Q show up
I did like how he created a forum for introspection by the human race on it's own philosophical issues. I still find it hard to believe that a significantly more powerful race would have a constructive or even neutral interaction with another species, but maybe that's just projecting the issues of humanity onto Q.
