Linux phones that are independent of Google/Apple and do not spy on you are still maturing and a bit hard for me to get here in the US. So, I recently de-googled my smart phone.

I will make due with it until one of the Linux smart phones finally mature enough in terms of hardware and capability that it can replace it.

My big question is, which Linux phone seems to be the most promising? Which one should I keep my eye one? And how long will it take before any Linux phone can start seriously competing with the major brands? PinePhone, Librem, Murena, etc. ?

I too am earnestly waiting for this kind of product.

Hell, I'm tempted to build my own device some how.

there is postmarketOS for a couple of phones. i tried it on my (spare) OnePlus 6T but the WiFi made problems for me. maybe you are more lucky

Thanks, I'll remember that. I am not going to worry about other OS's besides GrapheneOS...for now. I just got my first de-googled phone setup. The next milestone (and possible endgame) would be a phone that has open source hardware and that I can fully control, including any software installed.

Don't forget to open source it, pleeeaaase! 🙏 😆 It would be so awesome if the hardware * and* software were open sourced. Just buy the boards or 3D print everything when you need it. Sighs A man can hope and dream.....😔
