Bannon did the same thing telegraphing Project 2025 around the 2024 election. Even if Trump hadn't inadvertently leaked the plan, I would still believe Bannon's trial balloon here.

Importantly, this isn't going to require more ICE personnel than they already have. Trump talked about "taking over" 12 "places." In all likelihood, these are not even references to states, just specific counties in swing states that absolutely can change the outcome of the election, given the concentration of democratic voters in cities.

So now that we have their confirmation that this is the plan, each one of these states should be passing laws clarifying any ambiguity in their voter intimidation criminal laws. Beyond that, they'll need to somehow convince the local PD to protect those lines, which may be delusional anyway because so much of every PD will be sympathetic to the fascists.

This is going to be rooouuugghh year.
