  • Every government in the world (My city now has facial recognition cameras all around, the UK is implementing age verification, the EU with chat control and so on...)

Yet masses of people are voluntarily paying good money to have corporate spy cameras and listening devices installed in their homes.

Devices that can (and have) leak personal information to both criminals (in the traditional sense) and government agencies.

That mostly has to do with people not understanding the implications of technology. It's not that they want to be spies on, they're just very ignorant and government laws against this spying has been lax at best and helping with the spying at worst
