I'm kinda on the pro-ship side considering the rampant puritanism that anti-shippers have shown, but I'm just asking to check my own biases.
Also, this place does have a lot of libs, so keep that in mind.

It's all about shipping together characters in fiction, right? If that's the case why do we need to bother with other people's fantasies?
Is there any causal relation between e.g. shipping siblings in anime and real life incest? If not, and I don't think there is, it's just a distraction from real problems.
I don't know the community or the context but this sort of discussion usually comes down to what kind of conduct people want to have inside of their community and it appears that "pro-shippers" and allowing shipping of minors and family members creates an unsafe environment that leads to real-world harm like grooming of community members.
