Basically title. I'm in the EU, so I need a 868Mhz one. I need it to be weather-resistant, because I'm making an outdoors node. Cost and size are not an issue. I plan to mount it relatively high.

I'll most likely install it on a Heltec T114.

The RAK wireless 8 or 12dBi

Correct me if I'm wrong, but 8-12dBi seems a bit much for an urban area from what I've seen in other people's experiences.

12 might be a bit high, but 8 is definitely right. Remember that you don't just need line of sight, you need to pass the fresnel zone as well.

Regardless of the gain, you can't go wrong with the RAK antennas.

Thanks <3

I'll take a look at the RAK antennas

Would this work indoors on the windowsill if you couldn’t mount it outside?

Also if you were running multiple nodes, one for Meshcore for example and another for Meshtastic could you the same antenna with them or would you need a separate antenna for each device?

Antennas work regardless of their location, propagation however is dependent on the surrounding and surrounding materials.

You don't need the same antenna on all devices.
