In addition to there being a whole team of IT guys who weren't part of the barebones crew on the island at the time...
The science did go wrong. The Dinosaurs used a genetic expression from the amphibious DNA used to fill in the gaps in their own DNA and started to reproduce outside of the lab. Things happened as a result of the science which the scientists did not intend and it caused a massive ecological catastrophe leading to loss of life.
