On balance, for a wealthy person in the imperial core who isn't gonna be systemically murdered by massive terrible machinery of state, to have all that innovation andgenuis turned against us? Sure. Better. I like my working toilet and my antibiotics and my vibrator.
But the point here is highlighting the specific shit that we lost, that was taken from us, stolen by capital. your ancesters didn't even have the concept of freedom as you have it today. to them their poverty was part of the divine order of the world, and just like you, they wished they could become kings and nobility, and resented them. but they were kept in check by brutality and force. social life was also incredibly narrow minded. if you didn't believe in god and went to church you were branded a witch and burned alive.
