Trump basically never smiles, except some rare instances for staged official photos.

He also never laughs. He was raised to believe that doing either would show weakness.

One of the eerier signs of an outright true narcissist is that they don't laugh. Maybe a smirk, maybe a snicker of approval, but actual emotionally vulnerable laughter just doesn't happen.

my partner's bird fucking laughs -- he knows it's something people do when someone says something funny so he laughs to be part of the conversation. how do you manage to miss something so core to being human that a fucking bird picked up on it?? I know narcissism is borne out of trauma but it never fails to blow my mind. laughter is so deeply human that it's one of a small number of gestures that transcends all languages. even chimpanzees laugh.
