My roommate does this with their cat. Now whenever anyone operates a can opener the cat comes running and MEOWS, even though in my case it's never tuna.
No kitty, you don't want my black beans. Stop.
Let the cat have the liquid while you eat the ~~meat~~ beans.
Then, let the cat clean up the explosive diarrhea it sporadically paints the house with afterward. Mmm, meaty bean water, the sequel.
