When I was a small kid, we had full moon, new moon and the two phases in between. Now we have dozens of descriptions for what the moon looks like. It’s still the same piece of rock. Just enjoy it as it is, I don’t care about the super red ultra bright wolf blood moon.

I’m having a hard time understanding why it’s a problem for you that other people get excited about interesting things in nature.

If it brings them joy, what’s the problem?

The “wolf” part that you’re upset about was there long before you were a child, you just didn’t know about it. I’m guessing you are not American. The Old Farmer’s Almanac has published the (English translated) Algonquin names of the full moons since 1792.

The super moon is when a full moon occurs when the moon is closest to the earth in its elliptical orbit. Also something that has been happening since long before you were a child. The term was coined in 1979, so maybe you missed out on that as part of your childhood.

A blood moon is a special type of lunar eclipse. Unless you are older than the human race, you are not too old to have had people around you getting excited about eclipses. And yes, pretty colors that happen when they are occurring in range of certain light waves from earth’s atmosphere are exciting, if you’re paying attention.

It seems like you’re pretty good at not paying attention though, so why not just continue that habit and let people enjoy what they like?

Both barrels, dang 😂

Traditional moon names are neat in context. This last sooopermoon was the Harvest Moon, or the Falling Leaves Moon, or the Ice Moon, which all make sense in the context of a lunar calendar: a time of falling leaves. Beats calling this stretch of time October, or Month no. 8.
