Not sure about all the hate. Smeared like Ellen, I guess. He co-created/wrote/produced 'Gavin & Stacey', which is superb, and did the Car Karaoke thing.
Ultimately, the hate is jealous fabrication/exaggeration/hyperbole.
So factually a legitimate asshole then. Cool.
"he made some popular things and something that I personally like so the hate is clearly all fake news" is certainly quite the take.
