There is a way to criticize them satirically while sounding like you were agreeing with them and not communicating you are using satire. That said… Worried about Stewart & Colbert & those kinds of folks. Imagine 0.00[…]1% of the deranged out there would be incensed by humor about “their” guy so I personally might not find the average joke at Kirk’s expense to be worth it. (Logic: political commentator on right is killed, those on left make jokes, guy on right gets super upset and kills a late night host on the left in part b/c a straw broke the camel’s back) On the side of those were alive I like speaking truth to power.
