Chat does this by being a long-form community where topics will remain from day to day unlike the megathread, and it is distinct from c/chapotraphouse in that we ask you to engage in this community in a genuine way. Please keep shitposting, bits, and irony to a minimum.
As with all communities posts need to abide by the code of conduct, additionally moderators will remove any posts or comments deemed to be inappropriate.

I noticed this in real life too. I had a political argument or debate or whatever with an old friend who is died blue Democrat, literally works in politics. He's a smart guy and obviously in tune with politics, but when we talked about China or foreign policy every single argument he made I had heard before and had counters to. Nothing was surprising. Liberals all kind of retread the same basic bullet points and change the topic if you have concrete ways to address those points.
Told a coworker that Chinese high speed rail was groovy and they hit me with an Uyghur genocide bit for no reason
How did he respond?
It started with talking about China not respecting IP laws and every time I countered what he said, he switched to a different "China bad" bullet point.
