Yeah, workplace hierarchies are a thing, and they are voluntary - nobody is keeping you captive at your job.

    Do you need a job to live? If not, then you're free to refuse such hierarchies. But most of us do need a job to live, and so the choice you claim to exist doesn't really exist.
