I think they were subtly referring to religion but same same.
I chose not to recognize the biggotted subtext and instead to steelman the statement into something spiritually and factually meaningful.
It's not bigoted to say religious people have no proof. Belief without proof is the definition of faith.
It's also not bigoted to say religion has a high kill count. Religion has been a major factor in wars and straight up murders since the beginning..
