You think these people are going to wake up? At this point they are probably still saying that it is okay to suffer "God's wrath" if it is to own the libs. Some idiot on the news a few weeks back was joyful that his wife had been deported and was praising Taco for "what must be done".

These people live in a bubble, and the only road forward as a net benefit to society is to apply guillotines before their social darwinism takes us down with them.

The Republicans destroyed half the world's wealth in 2008 and spiked unemployment over 10% after starting a very unpopular bullshit war. They were only out of power for 2 years.

Nothing will wake these people up short of completely dismantling the right-wing propaganda machine.

Nobody ever "wakes up" because none of this ever endures in the public consciousness. We're doing a repeat of Katrina, of the Haitian Earthquake, of the Kentucky flooding, of the Ashville NC flooding, of the Flint Water Crisis, of the California fires, of the Minnesota bridge collapse, of fucking 9/11.

The lesson isn't "let's come together". It is always "it's get even with people we hate and maybe siphon off money from the government spigot while we're at it".

It's always and forever about shaming people and then getting that bag.

The damage caused in the first months of this presidency will be staggering and generational.

I thought the same thing after Bush took office. Four years later, I watched the TV screech at Americans until they accepted Bush for a second term.

Now it feels like everyone is just some reincarnation of George Bush.

The rest of the world will be extremely lucky if this only hurts America....
