Nearly a thousand treasonous rioters were convicted and needed to be pardoned by the Criminal-in-Chief

Content censorship but you were shilling pretty hard, I think that's what got them triggered

[-] [email protected] 4 points 1 month ago

Anything less than complete loyalty to Trump is triggering to those snowflakes.

I understand why they have their safe spaces.

[-] [email protected] 3 points 1 month ago* (last edited 1 month ago)

I understand why they have their safe spaces.

Then people shouldn't insist going into the "safe" spaces, and posting stuff that is against that community's spirit.

[-] [email protected] 1 points 1 month ago

Document the behavit for the anals of history?

[-] [email protected] 2 points 1 month ago* (last edited 1 month ago)

But isn't that bad faith? If they are going someplace safe to talk amongst themselves and not posting their stuff in other places, then let them be. It's already documented because they are on Lemmy.

[-] [email protected] 2 points 1 month ago

If this is a repeat act the sure, that would be bad faith.

But i also never seen reports on this community here. I didn't even know there places for alt right to congrate on fedi.

So good there is but also tankies and normies get this treatment so I am not sure why alt right get an exemption tbh

[-] [email protected] 3 points 1 month ago

But i also never seen reports on this community here.

There have been other posts about this community, in fact, I think from OP.

So good there is but also tankies and normies get this treatment so I am not sure why alt right get an exemption tbh

Oh, I'm not saying alt right should get an exemption, I'm saying I think it's bad faith, regardless of the community. If it's a community just for a particular political leaning, I think it's bad form to just post stuff in there to stir stuff up.

Also, regarding the OP: the person posting didn't get banned, just had their post removed. So I don't see it as on over-reach of the mod's power. His (or her) community, and they can dictate what's appropriate content in it.

[-] [email protected] 3 points 1 month ago

I agree with your general sentiment on this. It's the same concept as anti-AI trolls shit stirring in posts from genAI communities. It's a pointless exercise getting butthurt about it when they get banned.

BPR. I'm certainly not defending the community though. We defederated from that instance a while back over their right wing communities afaik.

[-] [email protected] 3 points 1 month ago

Exactly. I'm not conservative, so I don't really care THAT much, but I do think as long as they aren't posting anything illegal, then let them be. I'm not a big furries fan either, but hey if someone wants to post furry articles all day, go for it. Lemmy is starting to really get extreme about voices they don't like.

We have such good tools to block and defend tho, I don't see any point in poking the bears. What if Lemmy skewed conservative and they tried to do all this shit to liberals?! Everyone would be yelling about how unfair it is.

Blocking users and communities is so freaking easy; people are just creating drama by continually posting to communities they don't agree with, just because they really like drama.

I miss the days when not every fucking thing had to be about politics. lol

But did you consider that if I hate a user, they must be purged from all communities and all instances?! They proved me wrong, so they must be banned! They were right the entire time, so they're evil! I'm the good guy here, I just want to ban anyone I dislike!

[-] [email protected] 2 points 1 month ago

You joke, but I see soooo many on Lemmy like that now! lol

[-] [email protected] 2 points 1 month ago

Its .world's motto at this point. Agree with the admin/mod groupthink, or you must be purged.

[-] [email protected] 1 points 1 month ago

This comment got some interesting attention.

What is a private Lemmy instance anyways?

[-] [email protected] 3 points 1 month ago* (last edited 1 month ago)

I'm not involved in your original complaint, nor am I a mod of the community that your complaint is about. Not sure why you're mentioning me. I also don't know anything about the Saiko person or the Saiko instance. No idea what you are even trying to imply here.

I only mentioned you in my comments because you're the poster of the OP and asking for opinions by posting here.

[-] [email protected] 3 points 1 month ago

No idea what they're implying either. I downvoted them because I didn't think the comment actually further discussion and specifically shuts down any meaningful discussion. Apparently that is "some interesting attention".

@[email protected] why was this removed for being off topic?

It did not break any of the community or instance rules and it was furthering the conversation that was forming in the comments.

[-] [email protected] 8 points 1 month ago

Stay in the topic of the post. Starting slap fights about downvotes is not in scope of his comm.

[-] [email protected] -2 points 1 month ago

I’ve never cared about downvotes much less tried to start slap fights about them I was interested what a publicly accessible private Lemmy community was.

[-] [email protected] -3 points 1 month ago* (last edited 1 month ago)

With your permission because I’d have to be reposting moderated content I’d like to create a new post about this to leave it to the community to vote if that comment was off topic based on the context or not.

[-] [email protected] 5 points 1 month ago

Holy shit don't you have anything better to do? Whatever, post away about the injustice that happened today

[-] [email protected] -4 points 1 month ago

Thank you this is the most exciting thing that’s happened to me all day and possibly all week.

[-] [email protected] 3 points 1 month ago

You can read the mod log. No reason to harass anyone when the reason is already spelled out.

But since you want to take screenshots and question my instance.

It's effectively a single user instance. That is what I mean by private lemmy instance. I have a handful of users on my instance that are all people I directly know. The implication is that I will not accept general people signing up to my instance, thus "private".

[-] [email protected] -1 points 1 month ago

No one is being harassed here I'm asking about a moderator action in a community about moderator actions.

Off-topic is not a rule of the community or dozer0's instance and amusingly enough it's the same reasoning as the OP's comment's removal.

[-] [email protected] 4 points 1 month ago

Off-topic is not a rule of the community

Uhh you sure about that chief?

Post only about bans or other sanctions that you have received from a mod or admin.

It's right there... first rule. My sidebar of my instance has nothing to do with this post, or mods, or admins, or any sanctions you would receive.

You got but hurt that I (and somebody else) downvoted you and then started asking questions about my instance, without even tagging me to ask me... That's literally the definition of off topic. That is the reason it was removed. What more discussion would tagging db0 net you?

BTW... I downvoted you because I didn’t think the comment actually further discussion and specifically shuts down any meaningful discussion. Not sure what the verbiage in my sidebar has to do with any of that.

[-] [email protected] -1 points 1 month ago

It was a comment not a post and it was on topic in the topics that were naturally forming in the comments.

Ye Power Trippin' Bastards

1365 readers
30 users here now

This is a community in the spirit of "Am I The Asshole" where people can post their own bans from lemmy or reddit or whatever and get some feedback from others whether the ban was justified or not.

Sometimes one just wants to be able to challenge the arguments some mod made and this could be the place for that.

Posting Guidelines

All posts should follow this basic structure:

  1. Which mods/admins were being Power Tripping Bastards?
  2. What sanction did they impose (e.g. community ban, instance ban, removed comment)?
  3. Provide a screenshot of the relevant modlog entry (don’t de-obfuscate mod names).
  4. Provide a screenshot and explanation of the cause of the sanction (e.g. the post/comment that was removed, or got you banned).
  5. Explain why you think its unfair and how you would like the situation to be remedied.

Rules

Expect to receive feedback about your posts, they might even be negative.

Make sure you follow this instance's code of conduct. In other words we won't allow bellyaching about being sanctioned for hate speech or bigotry.

YTPB matrix channel: For real-time discussions about bastards or to appeal mod actions in YPTB itself.
