SRA is pretty explicit about not being a "militia" of any kind. Good place to meet cool people, but they won't be resisting under the SRA banner. John Brown Gun Club on the other hand is a little less timid about showing up to protect people.

Thanks for mentioning them, my thoughts were apparently not fully engaged yet when I posted, and originally said 'Socialist Rifle Club', my brain combined them into one
