First commissioned during the age of steam travel, Queen Victoria was a regular user of the train, frequently updating it to suit her tastes. For her Diamond Jubilee in 1897, she was given a new royal train of six coaches. Her eldest son, the Prince of Wales, and his wife, the Princess of Wales, were also given their own coaches. In 1901, Queen Victoria's coffin was conveyed to Windsor via the train, where she was buried.
Oh beautiful train with your heating and your buffet car stocked with cheese and crackers, orange juice and kit Kats among other things.
Imagine we had trains with bars like in the movies! Hmm maybe not.
Trains with big tables would be good though! Come on NSW.
I should have bought that deck of cards from the op shop so I could play solitaire.
I'd love to enjoy the luxury of the royal train, especially King Edward VII's smoking carriage chef's kiss
TIL. Thanks!
