I find the age related narrative for Inter losing to be lazy. They beat Barca and Barcas average age is only slightly higher than PSGs and Barca also rely on skill at pace.
I felt Inzaghi failed to plan properly on how to deal with the counter, its not like PSG suddenly turned up at the final and sprung that surprise. Even if you wound back the clock for the Inter players they would never had the pace to run a high line en-masse and then cover a PSG counter.
It just seemed very naive, and their pass pass long ball to Thuram to hold up while the guys caught up seemed to be their only real plan for attack.
Plus their keeper and starting LB were awful, their keeper couldn't even do long balls that didn't go out of play half the time. It was like they didn't plan or train with this match in mind.
The fact that we beat the post January window version of them (they were frankly still shit before then, as were we) them with more than a single lucky goal against the run of play shows that they can be beaten. Defensively they rely on Donnarumma far too much, which is never sensible to rely that much on your keeper.
