Kim Il Sung was also the elected leader of Korea following WWII. He was like the Korean Eisenhower (except based). He had led the resistance in Korea during the war and was incredibly popular afterwards. Syngman Rhee not only was not elected, his underlings had been collaborators for the former occupiers who tortured, removedd, and murdered Koreans. He had spent the war exiled in China before getting impeached.
