cluckenbouche it is! The new trend in party food. I feel like I need to make this happen in real life.

This could be seriously delicious as a party centrepiece on the table. Some of the constituent pieces dusted in chilli powder, some with mild paprika. Russian roulette with chicken.

I've been trying to work out how you would hold the thing together. If serving cold melted cheese would work. For hot all I can come up with is a special mold and a really big deep fryer that can fry it all in one piece.

I was thinking on toothpicks like a grapefruit hedgehog, but mounted on some kind of large foam cone.

This is the way.

Actually, quite do-able. Foam cone from Lincraft (make your own xmas tree sort), or cardboard covered in tinfoil. Pipe thick stripes of mayo or other sauce in spirals over the cone. Stab each chicken piece with a toothpick, and stack around the cone, glued in place with the sauce with the toothpicks facing outwards. Pipe over more sauce or not as preferred. Maybe lop off the top of the cone to fit a small bowl and put melted cheeee or another sauce in the bowl for serving. Provide plate/bowl for used toothpicks.

You could end up with a chicken volcano. A cone of chicken built around a fondue pot.

This is just sounding better and better really.
