Can you suggest me some website/tutorial which will teach me how to make use of a project from GitHub ? I wish to make a very simple 3D animation.
That depends on what kind of project you're looking at.
I know a good site that teaches the fundamentals of using Git for version control: https://learngitbranching.js.org/
But since you're asking about animation, I'm guessing you might want more info geared towards that instead.
It's been ages since I was really active with Blender. BlenderArtists.org might have some good tutorials.
For some animation topics you can search for, there's how to set key frames, using the graph editor (I haven't watched that tutorial, so I have no idea if it's any good). And for more advanced animations look up character rigging (foot roll tutorials may show you several techniques involved with more advanced character rigs, but start with the basics first.
