They're likely coming from the countryside and can't afford/skip on renting a place to sleep. I see this trend in my country too, ride-hailing driver going to big city, work on the weekdays, and sleep in their car. They save a lot on skipping the rent this way. In total they made 50% to 100% more than they work at where they're from.
