Oh, I love divination systems myself. I don't think they have any predictive validity, but I think they have value in "de-rutting" your thoughts. I find they foster creativity and unjam blocks and such by putting a new way of looking at issues.
Currently I'm playing around with the 易经 (Yijing/I-Ching). (I literally just put up a photo-essay yesterday of some of my tools, and a photo-essay with two forms of divination, including the Yijing a couple of weeks before.)
That's exactly the way I look at things like tarot as well. The cards tell you little stories that you relate to things in your own life. And it can provide new angles to look at things from and possible new insights. It's definitely not how it's portrayed in movies and Death does not literally mean death lol. I think something like astrology works in pretty much the same way.
Just finished catching up with your kickass women posts, which I thoroughly enjoyed. Which made me want to circle back to this. I keep thinking about this post because it's been bugging me a little that I forgot to respond about your photo essays in my original reply.
I don't actually use Pixelfed (it's the Fediverse version of Instagram right?) and it acts a little funky in Firefox Android but if there's a decent app, I might give things a proper look there. I'm definitely a fan of your writings. And I've been missing interesting stuff like this in my life.
I'll bet you're not caught up yet! 😀
