All of us are here for a short lifetime. Let’s have a nice time here and avoid negativity. :)
Please be respectful, even if you don't agree.
Don't personally attack people. Don't call them names.
Be grown-ups.
I think taking away peoples option to buy soda and candy with welfare is a good thing. Again, YOU can buy them all the candy and soda you want. Feel free.
If I give people money, it had conditions. You definitely don't have to put conditions on the money YOU give to someone. In fact, you can give you whole paycheck to someone and let them buy soda and candy. Good on ya.
But I don't want to do that. And many others don't. Nothing about the food stamp program prohibits you from helping out and donating your money for soda and candy. Go the the store, and when you notice someone paying with food stamp card, then be sure to offer them some of your money. I am perfectly fine with you doing that.
However, I don't want my money that goes to help them out, to go to soda and candy. They can live without soda and candy.
Because the government is giving them access to free groceries. So there are strings attached. If they don't like those strings, they can refuse to accept the aide. No one is forcing them to accept food stamps. Than can turn them down if the don't like it coming with rules.
YOU an give them money to buy treats. In fact, you can buy the treats and give it to them yourself. You're free to do that.
Because that's not what the aid is for. It's that simple.
