Violence is a common driver in politics. It comes into play when democracy fails, and I'd like to see less of it happening for sure, but it is there, and it's not that conservatives were never involved in such acts.

I don't think it's a "common" driver in politics at all. Sure there are small pockets of it here and there, but it's not big in the scheme of things. Destroying someones property just because you don't agree with their politics is lame regardless of which political party does it.
