If you hate your job that much, QUIT. Unemployment is at 4.1%, about as low as it gets. I know that's a glib, simplistic answer, but sometimes it's really that easy. I made a complaint to the scheduling lady, bam, perfect schedule now. I work hard, I'm conscientious, they fucking love me, not letting me go easy.

Fuck me, had a tech support job with Cox. Tried to hang in for 6-months until I could get back in the field. Hated that shit so much I was depressed on FRIDAY thinking about how soon I would be back.

Quit a 7-year job over being annoyed, FOR 7-YEARS (that's on me and the 2008 recession). Damn near doubled my pay. Next job? Annoyed me after 5-years. Doubled my pay again. Lost that job due to it being moved. They offered severance or moving expenses. Dropped IT to go do manual labor at Lowe's. Happy as a pig in shit. (Pay sucks. For now.)

I call it the Hawkeye Pierce Theory of Work. Be soon damned good they can't get rid of you. Guess what? Now you write the rules. If that ain't working? LEAVE.

tl;dr: You only have one life and your labor (hopefully) has value. Fuck the police, move on.
