Looking to buy some ram chips to solder (apollo.town)

I am looking to upgrade the ram in a Macbook Air early 2014 model.

Let me start by saying that I am aware that the ram in a macbook is soldered to the motherboard, is very much not meant to be replaced / upgraded, the whole laptop can be damaged or destroyed if something goes wrong, and since this laptop is old it likely will not be supported for too much longer if it is not already unsupported. I would still like to consider the option anyways because it might be (hopefully is) cheaper than buying a new mac, and it also sounds fun to do anyways.

I would like to try upgrading this mac from 4 GB to 8 GB, but I am having difficulty finding ram chips online. I am looking for 2 GB ram chips to swap the 1 GB chips with (this mac has 4 memory chips).

Does anyone know of a good source for these?

there's a guy on youtube who specialises in apple repairs. maybe you could send an email to ask. I also think i saw him doing exactly what you're planning in one of his videos. maybe check it out:

I contacted Louis Rossman's team, and sadly they do not offer the ram chips.
