I still think ~20% chance he was not channeling a Nazi salute here and it was just a coincidentally similar gesture. If it was just a coincidentally similar gesture, it's still likely he'd have repeated it, so the fact that he repeated it doesn't sway me much.

The fact that neo-nazis are going to interpret this as a sign of support is what makes this really dangerous, and that's what matters. Musk's coy responses on twitter/x basically proves he wants this outcome. Whether there's a small chance this wasn't intentional in the first place doesn't really matter.
