They want a superpower economy and cultural relevance without wanting to do any of the dirty work of war and world conquer themselves

To be fair Canada has a long history of its own genocides and destruction of the global south through mining companies and the Hudson Bay company.

That's the issue with Canadians, they get a few mines in Africa + South America and it gets to their head and believe Hudson Bay was like the East India company at its prime
