It used to be that the old folks would move down, live a few years, die, and be replaced by more old folks. Meanwhile, young families were having kids and making normal-ish Florida natives.
Lately though, the old folks keep coming but they’re not dying. So we pile up more snowbirds and geriatric transplants. This has caused housing problems (and of course lots of younger folks are moving to FL as well) and I think is at least partly responsible for Florida’s shift to the right politically too.
A lot of my friend’s parents have moved to Florida since trump became pres the first time, solely for the right wing politics. So seems to be a new wave of elderly coming to let their inner Karen out
Florida should be this tropical paradise of left wing mentality. A wonderful beach paradise where everyone rubs sun tan lotion on each other. A constant party with Gloria Estefan on repeat.
Humanity should die.
