Do you guys think its too late for me to play sunday league football even at the lowest level with some team if I am starting football at age 26?

I haven't played football since I was a kid but I am trying to get back into it now and have joined a local sunday league team. But I feel the others are much better than me.

And its not just because I feel that way, I honestly was messing up so many passes in training the other night. If I was the coach I would not even play myself by the way I was playing. Several times when I got passed to I tried to pass it to another teammate and just gave it straight back to the other team. In a match that just means I am a complete liability because it will lead to conceding

Is it possible to improve at football at an older age? Because it seems like all the others in my team have played their entire lives so I have a lot of catching up to do.

For clarity, I've also not played since I was a kid. But it's definitely possible to improve, especially if it's been a long time since you played consistently. Remember it's "only" Sunday league; no one is expecting you to be the next Jamie Vardy. It's admirable that you're taking it up again off your own back. Give it time and don't pressure yourself too much.

Nobody wants you to be Jamie vardy but they do want you to not make the team lose the ball constantly ๐Ÿ˜‚ hopefully with time I can improve
