Chronicle the life and tale of the fediverse (+ matrix)

Largely a sublemmy about capturing drama, from fediverse spanning drama to just lemmy drama.

Includes lore like how a instance got it's name, how an instance got defederated, how an admin got doxxed, fedihistory etc

(New) This sub's intentions is to an archive/newspaper, as in preferably don't get into fights with each other or the ppl featured in the drama

Wanting to be able to exist in a social space online without 3/4ths of all discussion in that space being bleak political news isn't the same thing as ignorance.

I posted about voting, I engage with political discussion, but lemmy is a very politics heavy platform, and while there's nothing intrinsically wrong with that, you kinda have to manage your fatigue levels. You can only be but so upset, outraged and exhausted before it starts to affect you, and being burnt out and overwhelmed doesn't yield productive political action

You gotta take breaks and balance paying attention with stuff that makes life feel worthwhile. If you don't, eventually you just give up. Cats for a little while is kinda nice :)

Also worthwhile noting that not everybody on the English speaking internet is American ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

It doesn't matter how much trump is forced down my throat, it doesn't change shit because I live on the other side of the world. A little bit of awareness and courtesy every once in a while wouldn't go astray.

If you're only getting your news from lemmy posts you've got bigger problems than you think.
