But a part of the comment threads that are unseen are the spectators on the sideline. Even if some annoying liberal troll is being annoying and obtuse, by being honest you might win over someone who is just reading.

This is kinda how chapotraphouse and genzedong subreddits got big enough to warrant admin intervention. Even in their heyday, if you went to the comments in a political post in a default subreddit you would always see they same dweebs with their tired talking points.

Regardless of these those subreddit grew until they became "problematic" for Reddit. Reality is just Marxist.
