Chronicle the life and tale of the fediverse (+ matrix)
Largely a sublemmy about capturing drama, from fediverse spanning drama to just lemmy drama.
Includes lore like how a instance got it's name, how an instance got defederated, how an admin got doxxed, fedihistory etc
(New) This sub's intentions is to an archive/newspaper, as in preferably don't get into fights with each other or the ppl featured in the drama

U think im bothered by downvotes lol. And being a grammar nazi thats low
Considering you came here to complain about it, yea.
No im here to bitch about mods thinking that its ok to advocate for violence and silence anyone who points that out. I believe in free speach (not being censored) not freedom from others dissenting speach (being downvoted).
Free speech means that the state cannot curtail your expression. It doesn't mean that you can use my servers to be an ignorant jackass.
Ahh yes because the philosophy of freedom wasnt invented untill the american constitution was written. Free speach is an idea the first amendment is the american sates codification of this idea for their purposes.
What formative documents can I read to learn about this "philosophy of freedom"
Try the ancient Greeks they invented well pretty much everything.
Gotta protect the sprach
There's instances that don't do downvotes. Can recommend. If someone wants to tell me something they'll need the guts to actually say it
I like downvotes its important for any forum to have equall ability to express discontent.
I disagree, but I'm not hitting the downvote button. In my opinion, the downvote button is handy when you want to see what people dislike. (and I like your position on this)
But when it comes to online discussion, I want to discuss. Hence you're reading this. It's a lot more fun, insightful and useful to a forum to actually talk rather than vote in my opinion.
I feel a well voted thread sorts opinions on any topic from popular to unpopular. Gives people reading an additional dimension to put ideas that exists outside their subjective. And doesnt effect you ability to engage in discussion. Would be nice if u could search by contraversial tho.
Then of course u have the mathematical argument of votes that defaukt u have +1, -1, 0 (neutral) if u remove downvotes u essentialy have +1/2, -1/2 with no neutral forcing you to take a position. This is because a post without downvotes is not sorted against posts with downvotes but only other posts without.
I don't think pushing popularity to the top or bottom is a great way to promote nuance. It's nice for cat pictures, but I don't think it's helpful for discussion
