anakin-padme-1

anakin-padme-2 we'll have a renewable energy grid before we massively increase electricity demand through EVs, right?

anakin-padme-3 "Also, climate change can't be stopped so expanding data centers for the sake of treat printers is smart. Bazinga!"

the most depressing thing was learning that the dozens of acres of solar farms built near me over the last few years is for planned data centers not to bolster up our local grid

oh well when the collapse comes at least i can just use the last of my gasoline to go cut down and drag one of those big municipal panels back to my house

Meanwhile, people are campaigning heavily against solar farms and energy storage being built near me, despite the fact that I live in California which is one of the best places in the world to do solar farms and energy storage.

Their reasoning? "It's not agriculture!" As if it isn't also beneficial to reduce our fucking water usage monke-rage

Won't someone think of those 6 poor alfalfa and pistachio farmers who use 85% of California's water supply at no cost on a cash crop?

It's wild that the drinking water of millions of people takes second fiddle to some billionaire nut farmers

one of my local solar farms had to stop expanding because locals were taking potshots at them from the woods.

they couldn't figure out who or prove it wasn't just "accidental gunfire from hunters" but they just gave up because the risk was too great

this area is mostly just forestry on old lands used for mining in the early 1900s like wtf "rural character" were these terrorists protecting. similar mindset to your Cali chuds
