From his comments about Unai, I think Titi really has a hate boner for Arteta. Even with the results the past few seasons, I've never actually heard him praise Arteta. He praises the team but never Arteta. Meanwhile he was basically jizzing over Unai today and said Arsenal would've done better with him if he was given the time. BS...Unai never even had the locker room, how would it have worked?

I think I've heard him praise Arteta before, but it's seemed muted and begrudging. So I think you might be on to something.

Interestingly, they briefly played together for us, back in 2012 when Henry came back on loan from MLS for a handful of matches. Makes me wonder if some sort of misunderstanding happened then.

I may be misremembering, but when Arsenal were performing poorly, I recall Arteta hitting back at ex-players who had been critical of him saying something along the lines of they should back us instead of causing more problems or something.

If my memory is correct, maybe there's some posaible resentment there for Arteta's reaction

But I mean can you blame him though? He was trying to create a more positive working environment, he doesn't need that kind of noise affecting his players.

It was also around the time Spotify was thinking about buying the club, perhaps Titi was promised something. Look, Titi is a great player, he knows his stuff as a pundit....but good god I wouldn't want him coaching the team. I've seen how Montreal went, French team he was extremely lucky to have such a talent pool to work with. But also you quit the team after getting the silver medal? Wouldn't you want to build on that?

It's interesting to note that Arteta has an open door policy for ex-players, if they want to hang out at the facilities and mentor they are more than welcome to.

I agree, I just wondered if that may have played a part.
